Biography and Piano Lessons

BIOGRAPHY:

DJ Wilson, pianist extraordinaire, has been playing and studying music life-long. She has performed with some exciting artists, on stage and off, such as the late Ethel Merman, premier clarinetist Mitchel Lurie, and Canadian theater star, Patty Coenhouer.  Locally, she has accompanied top performers in classical and theater venues.

Fully trained in classical music, she attended Eastman School of Music. She has been a Music Director in theater for 25 plus years, both legitimate theater and improv.  DJ Wilson has been a performance coach, a composer and arranger for projects such as Red Cross HIV/AIDS and Context Trainings. She has also performed extensively in improvisation and can play by ear.

PIANO LESSONS

DJ follows the Associated Board of Royal School of Music programs (ABRSM) from England.  Students are able to have an yearly adjudication in performance and theory.  With this, they can assess their progress based on a world-wide standing. She also has 2 to 3 recitals per year.

The piano lessons include repertoire, technique, theory and sight reading. She has all levels of students from ages 6 to adult, beginning through advanced.
